Building Strong Foundations with Faith, Curiosity, and Confidence

At Growing Minds, Primary School is a season of deepening wonder and growing independence. These foundational years (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) are filled with joyful learning, creative discovery, and spiritual formation—all grounded in Biblical truth and whole-child development.

Whether they’re just learning to read or researching their first project, students are guided by caring teachers in an environment that celebrates curiosity, connection, and confidence.

“At Growing Minds, I get to teach in a way that honors the whole child. We’re not just preparing students for tests—we’re helping them discover who God made them to be. That’s why I chose this school.”

Reggio Roots That Grow with Your Child

Our youngest learners begin with a strong foundation in the Reggio Emilia approach—a method that values creativity, inquiry, and the unique voice of every child.

But that inspiration doesn’t stop in the early years.

As students move into upper elementary, Reggio principles continue to shape how we teach:

  • Classrooms remain hands-on, student-centered, and collaborative
  • Projects invite students to pursue real-world questions with depth and creativity
  • Teachers act as co-learners and guides, encouraging exploration alongside academic mastery
  • Learning spaces reflect beauty, order, andpurpose—designed to inspire wonder at every stage

We believe children don’t outgrow curiosity.  They just need the right space and guidance to keep growing it.

From Wonder to Wisdom: A Journey Through K-5

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

In the early primary years, students learn through hands-on discovery, creative expression, and Reggio-inspired exploration. Our classrooms feel like learning studios—where play, faith, and purpose are deeply intertwined.

Students develop:

  • Early literacy and math fluency
  • Curiosity through inquiry-based learning
  • Kindness and empathy in classroom relationships
  • A growing understanding of God’s truth through daily Scripture and prayer

3rd - 5th Grade

As students grow in maturity, so does their learning structure. Upper elementary students are guided through a more formal academic rhythm, while still enjoying room for creative thought, collaboration, and project-based application.

Students are challenged to:

  • Think critically across disciplines
  • Lead small group discussions and team projects
  • Strengthening writing, reasoning, and research skills
  • Apply a Biblical worldview to both classroom learning and real-world topics

What Your Child Will Gain Here

By the end of 5th grade, students will:

✓ Be fluent in foundational math, reading, writing, and science concepts
✓ Demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving in real-world settings
✓ Articulate ideas with clarity, confidence, and empathy
✓ Understand and apply Scripture to learning and daily life
✓ Transition into middle school equipped academically, spiritually, and emotionally

Our Curriculum

Growing Minds uses the BJU Press academic program, known for its rigorous, Biblically integrated curriculum across all core subjects. We supplement with hands-on experiences, arts integration, and real-world projects that bring learning to life.

Core Subjects:

  • Reading & Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science & Social Studies
  • Bible
  • Visual & Performing Arts
  • Physical Education

How We Support Each Learner

At Growing Minds, we believe every child should be seen, known, and equipped to grow into who God created them to be. That’s why our classrooms are intentionally designed with small group learning and a 1:20 ratio, including a lead teacher and teaching assistant.

This structure allows us to:

  • Personalize instruction
  • Build strong student-teacher relatonships
  • Create space for one-on-one and small group interaction
  • Foster a safe, faith-filled environment where each child thrives

How We Compare

  • Public elementary schools in Las Vegas (CCSD): ~21 students per teacher
  • Local charter schools: Typically 23-28 students per classroom, often without consistent aides

At Growing Minds, no one slips through the cracks. Our supportive model ensures students receive the guidance, challenge, and care they need to flourish—academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Faith in Action

Faith is not a separate subject—it’s the foundation of everything we do. Students engage in:

  • Daily worship, devotionals, and prayer
  • Weekly chapel experiences
  • Biblical worldview conversations in every subject
  • Meaningful service and outreach opportunities

A Note About Growth and Partnership

At Growing Minds, we understand that each student develops at their own rhythm. While no school can promise specific results, we are dedicated to walking with your child through these foundational years with care, structure, and faith.

Through close relationships and a shared partnership with families, we help students build the confidence, curiosity, and character they need to grow into who God created them to be.
